In anticipation of the 2017 Solar Eclipse, Wyoming State Parks seeks volunteers for five state parks within the path of totality. These parks include: Glendo, Guernsey, Edness Kimball Wilkins and Boysen. Volunteers are needed for the week leading up to the eclipse, and day of, from August 17-22. The eclipse will take place between 11:30 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. on August 21, 2017.

Volunteers will assist park staff with preparing and selling merchandise, checking in and orienting visitors, preparing and maintaining campgrounds, clean-up, directing traffic and parking. Responsibilities may vary depending on the park.

Volunteers will be provided with a free, dry campsite (no hookups), in exchange for four hours of service per day. A complimentary eclipse hat or t-shirt will be provided to volunteers.

During the eclipse, and the week prior, Wyoming State Parks will be offering:

  • Eclipse hikes
  • Star parties
  • Eclipse biking
  • Movie nights
  • Educational sessions
