Who We Are
The Volunteer Long-Term Care Ombudsman Program works with the Regional Ombudsman in their area to assure residents rights in Nursing Communities, Assisted Living Communities and Boarding Homes are protected and respected.
What We Do
We visit Residents in the assigned Nursing Communities, Boarding Homes and Assisted Livings communities, listening to concerns and complaints regarding their care. With the consent of the resident we investigate, and work with the facility staff, to try and resolve the issue. If unable to resolve, the volunteer will notify the assigned Regional Ombudsman.
If you are passionate about supporting people in need and want to make a difference in an elderly person life, if you are willing to invest time to help those in your community in a nursing home and if you are ready to work as a team to make your local nursing home better for it's residents then you are perfect for Volunteering for the Long-Term Care Ombudsman Program.
