Who We Are
The SCCDC is a not for profit organization that has served the people of Sweetwater County since 1979. The SCCDC serves children birth through age five with disabilities.
The SCCDC is a premier provider of early childhood educational services in Sweetwater County for young children with and without disabilities. The SCCDC provides free developmental screenings and educational and therapy programs for families living in Green River, Rock Springs, Granger, Superior, Wamsutter and Farson.
Services provided include:
- Free Developmental Screenings for all children birth through age five.
- Early Childhood Special Education
- Occupational Therapy
- Physical Therapy
- Speech and Language Therapy
- Home Based Early Intervention
- Social Emotional Services
- Parent Training and Support
The overall goal of the SCCDC is to help children with disabilities meet their speech and language, and gross and fine motor goals on their Individual Education Plans (IEP) and Individual Family Service Plans (IFSP). If the children work on these goals and pass them, then when they enter Kindergarten, they may not qualify for special education services or have a disability.
The center carries out this mission by providing early intervention services to the birth to three year old children and conducting a developmental preschool for children who are three to five years old. The center also provides parent training, counseling, social work services, occupational, physical, and speech/language therapy.
The SCCDC is a United Way of Southwest Wyoming Community Partner.
