Who We Are

The NCSD Parent Resource Center provides services to families of NCSD students at no cost. Services include:

EDUCATION

  • Disability and diversity presentations for schools, community agencies and groups
  • Checkout Library
  • Information for families and professionals regarding special education, the Individualized Education Program (IEP), Response to Intervention (RTI), disability and diversity issues
  • Information about community agencies

ADVOCACY

  • Attend Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings as a family advocate to help families work with the IEP team to provide the most appropriate services for the student

PREVENTION

  • Informational trainings, workshops, and classes
  • Parenting classes
  • Respectful Resolutions group 

CONSULTATION

  • Helping your family through the at-risk process
  • Helping your family through the special education process
  • Individualized Education Program (IEP) preparation
  • How to advocate for your student
  • Behavior concerns

INTERVENTION

  • Support groups
  • Support to families
  • Crisis intervention
  • Family counseling
  • Referrals for services

What We Do

The mission of NCSD Parent Resource Center is to support students' academic and emotion well-being by providing education, advocacy, prevention services, and interventions for families in partnership with other community agencies.

Our vision is to strengthen the relationship between families, schools, and the community.
