Who We Are

The Salvation Army was founded in 1865 in London by William Booth to help the economically disadvantaged population meet their physical, mental and spiritual needs without discrimination. The Salvation Army continued to spread establishing Centers and recruiting “soldiers” to spread the word of Jesus Christ through action without discrimination. By 1880, The Salvation Army was establishing chapters in the United States and, in 1891, they found their way to the Laramie area helping Native Americans and early settlers. The Salvation Army chapter was officially established in the new City of Laramie in 1898 and has been here ever since helping people without discrimination in the name of Jesus Christ.

What We Do

We help people with emergencies to pay their bills and find solutions to their challenges. With our help people are able to avoid disconnects of their services and decrease their monthly bills. Not only do we provide financial assistance, we connect them with agencies or programs they might not know about to help them. We provide money to tide them over until they can get access to other resources such as Social Security, or LIEAP or finding a job. People can get involved through donating or volunteering.
