Hey weekend warriors! We have a fun project for you, just outside of Centennial, Wyoming which combines wildlife conservation and historic preservation. Built in 1938 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the buildings of the Centennial Work Center embody a distinctive style of rustic architecture typical of ranger stations during the Great Depression. The HistoriCorps team will conduct bat mitigation by bat proofing the buildings and constructing a “Bat Condominium,” which will be so nice that they will relocate from the attic spaces of the historic buildings, retaining an essential roosting habitat and preserving these wonderful buildings!
