Families are invited to their school, sign in, and are directed to the gym. In the gym they are served a prepared meal. The kids are then escorted to an area to have a celebrity reader read a book to them. The parents are able to receive information from visiting agencies, organizations, or college. The kids pick out a free book and are reunited with their parents. The families form a line to receive their Healthy Family Supplement and literature.
We need volunteers for:
- Unloading the food bank truck to the designated distribution area.
- Unloading, counting, and setting out the books in the reading area.
- Setting up tables.
- Sign-in sheet monitor.
- Serving the prepared meal (buffet style).
- Handing out the Healthy Family Supplement bags.
- Handing out the literature.
- Break-down/clean-up.
