Volunteer: Welcome Desk Volunteering*Please email melisa.mcchesney@wyo.gov to sign up. This site does not notify us when new responses come in* Each month, the Wyoming State Museum welcomes hundreds to thousands of guests from around the country and the world. Visitors coming to the museum might have lived here their whole lives or never been to the state at all. No matter where they come from or why they're here, we want them to feel welcomed and excited about their time at the State Museum. Role: The museum is open from 9 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Saturday. Each day is split into two volunteer shifts, a morning shift from 9:00 am - 12:45 pm and an afternoon shift from 12:45 - 4:30 pm. Desk volunteers can work as few as one shift a month or can work as often as two or three times a week. Your schedule will be provided on a monthly basis, two week in advance. Benefits: This is a great opportunity for anyone looking to interact with people and contribute to the vibrant and welcoming Cheyenne tourism community. Volunteers will receive a monthly newsletter of happenings at the museum and will be invited to occasional volunteer events including dinners and behind the scenes tours. Volunteering in this role may lead to future opportunities working in the museum’s collections, education, exhibits, and community engagement departments.
