Committee members help plan, organize and host chapter events. Various pre-event tasks are delegated to committee volunteers throughout the planning process to ensure a well-managed event. Committee members help promote the event, solicit donations for and sell tickets to fundraising events. They also help make decisions on items such as event facilities, catering, merchandise orders, event features, auctioneers, event timelines and more.

The merchandise chair is responsible for receiving, inspecting, storing, organizing and keeping inventory of all event merchandise. Merchandise is secured by local committees through donations, local purchases or through the RMEF event merchandise purchase program.

The ticket chair is responsible for the distribution of event invitations and coordinating pre-event ticket sales. Ticket chairs collect all banquet tickets, manage and account for other pre-event revenue, and monitor the progress of banquet ticket sales within the RMEF Event Management System. At the event, the ticket chair oversees the attendee check-in process and ensures that those attendees receive what they previously purchased.

As the lead chapter volunteer, the chapter chair is responsible for overseeing chapter operations and fundraising activities. The chair leads efforts to organize, mentor and provide guidance to the chapter committee on all event preparations. The chapter chair works closely with the RD to set goals and objectives and ensures that the committee is well managed to complete necessary tasks on time. The chair typically leads committee meetings and is the primary contact with the RMEF regional director.
