Wyoming Family Home Ownership Program

WYFHOP is seeking families with school-age children as well as couples with grown children to serve as volunteer mentor families. Every dollar you contribute will go directly to a family savings account. These savings accounts are used for the initial down payment, closing costs, and maintenance costs during the first year. There are two ways you can contribute. (1) Mail a check to P.O. Box 21682, Cheyenne, WY, 82003, and you will receive a receipt. (2) Click the Donate button on our Homepage at wyfhop.org and make a contribution through PayPal. You do not have to have a PayPal account for this option.

Through a coalition of local faith communities, businesses, and dedicated families, The Wyoming Family Home Ownership Program (WYFHOP) aims to change the face of poverty, one family at a time. Every month for a two year period, the dedicated family saves $100 a month, attends financial literacy classes and builds relationships with family mentors. During the same period, the Community Partnership of churches, business partners contribute $200 month into a dedicated account with further assistance from the Wyoming Women's Business Center and others. After two years the parnter match is $12,400. This gives the family $14,800 towards the mortgage and closing costs. At the end of two years, the family has developed solid financial habits, are prepared financially, and are emotionally ready to own their own home. Community sponsors are the key to building necessary relationships for the families' success.
