Who We Are

Bright Futures is a mentorship program in Cody, Wyoming for youth to connect, learn, and shine. We develop a healthy, successful youth community by building mentoring relationships between positive role models and youth. Our operations center on four main goals: mentoring, teaching, encouraging self-worth, and promoting social connections.

What We Do

Bright Futures enlists caring adults and high schoolers who enjoy spending time with kids. We connect these mentors with students who can benefit from additional guidance, support, and friendship. Mentoring is proven to give kids the best possible chance for a healthy, successful future. Bright Futures offers two free programs for Cody youth: After School and One-to-One.

At Bright Futures After School, Mentors join a dynamic group of 5th graders at the Park County Library twice a month for enriching after school activities. Each event is packed with crafts, games, ice-breakers, movement, meditation, informative speakers, character building, small group conversations, and, of course, pizza. Mentoring relationships develop organically rather than through assigned matches.

At Bright Futures One-to-One, each mentor is matched with a designated K-12 student for the school year. Mentors join these students at their schools once a month to spend time together over lunch. Mentors provide their own transportation and Bright Futures provides the meals. Mentors and mentees are matched based on similar interests and preferences. These matches could be a high schooler joining an elementary or middle school student, or an adult joining a student of any age. All mentors undergo a vetting process and training before being paired with a child.
