The Wyoming Affiliate of Susan G. Komen

*Hold a Race for the Cure every year in August

*Through the monies raised at the Race, the Board of Directors approves granting for each fiscal year based on reviews by an independent review panel, made up of volunteers from around the state

*Currently have grants in 19 out of 23 Wyoming counties

*Conduct a Community Profile every 3-4 years to determine an action plan for the state of Wyoming

*Share Community Profile findings with other applicable agencies

*Currently holding quarterly meetings with partners throughout the state in order to produce a statewide resource directory to assist grantees and other agencies with patient navigation through the Continuum of Care

*Work with grantees to implement best/promising practices in meeting breast health/cancer needs in community

*Partner with schools and other agencies for community based fundraising efforts

The Wyoming Affiliate of Susan G. Komen will be celebrating it's 20th year running the "Race For The Cure" in Cheyenne, Wyoming in August 2015.  Over the 20 years, Komen Wyoming has granted almost $3 million to agencies around the state of Wyoming, in order to provide breast health/cancer services.  Twenty-five percent of the funds that are raised by the Wyoming Affiliate also get sent to Susan G. Komen Foundation to support research grants.  Our Affiliate is based in Wyoming, with a Wyoming Board of Directors, and we raise monies and grant in Wyoming.
