Who We Are

Nearly 30 million Americans receive assistance from The Salvation Army each year through the broadest array of social services that range from providing food for the hungry, relief for disaster victims, assistance for the disabled, outreach to the elderly and ill, clothing & shelter to the homeless and opportunities for underprivileged children. 82 cents of every dollar spent is used to support those services in 5,000 communities nationwide. The Salvation Army, an international movement, is an evangelical part of the universal Christian church. Its message is based on the Bible.

What We Do

The Salvation Army's work in Cheyenne started in 1889. Last year, nearly 20,000 hot lunches were served and over 350 food boxes are distributed each month. Every Christmas, more than 2,500 toys are given to needy children. 87 cents of EVERY dollar donated in Cheyenne is used to help others! Our ministry is motivated by the love of God, our mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ, and our goal is to meet human needs in Jesus name without discrimination. The Salvation Army gladly helps all people in need--regardless of race, culture, sex, or age.
