Who We Are

On the Laramie Ranger District of the Medicine Bow National forest, we strive to provide all forest users with a satisfying experience that will be passed down through the generations through the preservation of resources.

What We Do

The Medicine Bow-Routt National Forest provide year-round recreation opportunities. We also provide wildlife habitat, timber, and forage for livestock and are a vital source of water for irrigation, domestic use, and industry. The Laramie Ranger District welcomes efforts from individuals and groups who wish to volunteer. The Forest Service welcomes volunteer help! No matter what your training, experiences, or area of interest, there likely is a volunteer position for you in a field that interests you—trail work, campground hosting, bird surveys, information receptionist, range conservation, wilderness restoration, conservation education, and others.
