The EverGreen Box™ (also known as the Commodity Supplemental Food Program) is a food box program for adults ages 60 plus. Eligible community members receive nourishing food each month as part of the program. This is an income-based Food Bank of the Rockies program and is open to any eligible Colorado resident. The EverGreen Box™ consists of cheese and a variety of nutritious, shelf-stable food items, including vegetables, fruits, proteins, and grains.
Volunteers must be comfortable interacting with the community and be courteous and personable. Physical requirements include the ability to repeatedly lift up to 30 lbs., occasionally carry boxes up flights of stairs, and be comfortable moving equipment like dollies and hand trucks. Your volunteer shift will most likely be after the hours of 4:00 pm, and will last approximately 60 min. Your schedule will vary based on the route you are assigned. Registering at least one week in advance improves chances of either being assigned a route or being notified if there is no route available that day.
