Families are invited to their school, sign in, and are directed to their gym. In the gym the families are served a prepared meal. Approximately 45 minutes in, the kids are escorted to a classroom to enjoy a celebrity reader. The parents then have the opportunity to listen to a presentation from a visiting agency, organization, or college. The kids pick a free book to take home and are then reunited with their parents. The families then form a line to receive the Healthy Family Supplement bags and literature.
We need volunteers for:
- Unlaoding the food bank truck and taking the food to designated distribution area.
- Unloading, counting, adn setting out the books onto tables in the reading area.
- Setting up tables.
- Sign-in sheet monitor.
- Serving the prepared meal (buffet style).
- Handing out the Healthy Family Supplement bags.
- Handing out the literature.
- Break-down/clean-up after the event.
